Scope and status

Draft dated 27 October 2026 for the simplified, unreleased app. The new version is designed for 15 selectable languages and separate model downloads. The signed package, model delivery and App Store privacy declarations will be reconciled before release.

Local speech processing

Once models are installed, microphone audio, recognition, translation and speech synthesis are processed on the device. Audio and conversation text are not uploaded to a translation server. There is no account, advertising, tracking or automatic transmission of conversations to Informatik Baums. Recording starts only after an explicit action. Record only with the knowledge and permission of all participants.

Storage and deletion

Conversation content is held in memory and removed from the displayed conversation when the app enters the background or you clear it. This is not a guarantee of forensic memory erasure. Language and model preferences remain as local settings. Downloaded models can be removed and are excluded from normal app backup. iOS manages system diagnostics; copied text is managed by the destination app.

Model downloads and system voices

For the Store version on iOS/iPadOS 26 or later, Apple delivers selected model packs through Apple-Hosted Background Assets. Additional models are requested only after your action. Apple processes necessary connection, Store and download information under its own terms. No conversation content is sent to Apple, and the Store app does not request models from Hugging Face. Depending on system settings and your plan, mobile data charges may apply; Wi-Fi is recommended. The app verifies file length and SHA-256 and retains a verified local copy. iOS manages local voices. If a suitable voice is unavailable, the result is displayed as text.

Support and Apple

If you contact support voluntarily, contact details and information you provide are processed to answer the request. The basis is GDPR Article 6(1)(b) for contractual requests, otherwise Article 6(1)(f), based on legitimate business communication interests. IONOS provides email services. Requests are deleted after resolution unless retention duties or specific legal-defense interests apply. Do not send private audio, passwords or unredacted sensitive screenshots. Apple processes store, purchase and optional system-diagnostic data under its own terms.

Your rights

Subject to legal conditions, you may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction and portability, object to legitimate-interest processing, withdraw consent prospectively and complain to a supervisory authority, including LDI North Rhine-Westphalia. Informatik Baums cannot retrieve locally processed conversations. The app performs no profiling or automated decisions with legal effects.
