Careers and collaboration

Turn ideas into useful software together.

Speculative applications, independent collaboration and student placements: fully remote work with clear tasks and personal communication.

Good ideas need people to implement them.

I have many project ideas for custom software, AI-assisted process improvement and useful apps. Technical curiosity, fresh perspectives and careful implementation are welcome.

Informatik Baums is my personally run, part-time IT business. Collaboration is project-based with realistic agreed scope. This is an invitation to get acquainted, not a promise of a currently available position.

Three ways to collaborate

Speculative applications: describe your software, automation or operations skills, interests and availability. If employment is suitable, tasks, working hours, pay and contract terms are agreed beforehand.

Independent professionals: defined projects can combine complementary skills. Scope, fees, responsibilities, usage rights and confidentiality are agreed per project. Actual working arrangements must reflect independent business activity.

Student placements: I have successfully supervised two placements recognised by Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and Hochschule Niederrhein. Future placements depend on project fit, learning objectives and supervision capacity; recognition must be agreed individually with the university.

Include your programme, university, dates and study regulations. Clarify whether a fully remote placement is recognised. Learning plan, supervision, feedback, hours and remuneration are agreed in advance. Mandatory and voluntary placements are assessed separately; an internship is not automatically unpaid.

Fully remote, with clear coordination

The activities described here are intended to be fully remote, without regular office attendance. Tasks, decisions and meetings are documented; placements include reliable professional supervision. Workplace, availability, equipment and secure access are agreed in advance. Remote work is not blanket permission to work from any country: working abroad requires prior legal, tax and social-security clarification.

Interest, ability, initiative and creativity

Bring ideas and explore solutions, with scope for independent work and professional development. Applications are welcome regardless of gender, age, disability, ethnic origin, religion or belief and sexual identity. Suitability and task requirements matter. Ask if an accessible alternative is needed.

Which idea would you like to contribute to?

Initially, provide your name, a reply method, interests, skills, timeframe and intended workplace. A CV or work links are optional. Do not send confidential third-party documents, ID copies or health data. No photo or date of birth is needed.

Read the application privacy notice. A short email to joshua.baums@informatik-baums.de is sufficient; review is personal.
